BELGICAST: Transformation towards Operational Excellence

To meet the challenges of an increasingly demanding and competitive environment, BELGICAST embarked on a transformation process aimed at improving its operational results and strengthening its management model. To this end, it drew on ASENTA’s support in designing and implementing an improvement programme tailored to the organisation’s needs and characteristics.

Following an initial analysis and diagnostic phase, a number of improvement opportunities were identified in relation to process efficiency, the flow of materials and information, quality, response times and the development of organisational capabilities.

The main challenges addressed included:

• • Reducing response times and increasing flexibility
• • Improving coordination between departments and day-to-day management
• • Increasing process quality and reliability
• • Developing a culture of continuous improvement built on people’s involvement

To address these challenges, a structured transformation programme was defined, aligned with the company’s strategy and combining actions on processes, organisation and people.

The solution was based on the application of Operational Excellence and Lean Management methodologies, including a range of initiatives.

As a result, the organisation has consolidated a more efficient, flexible and customer-focused operating model, strengthening its internal capabilities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement that leaves it better placed to meet the present and future challenges of its business.
